The role:
We are looking for people who are dedicated to making a difference in peoples’ lives through the provision of Behaviour Support and direct Clinical Services.
Working under our Director of Clinical Services and within the Capability Clinical Governance Framework, you will deliver personalised, flexible and professional clinical supports to Children, Young People, Adults and Families, as well as supporting the development of Positive Behaviour Support Plans for NDIS participants.
You will operate in a diverse environment, visiting people at their homes, working in schools, or, working out of our offices in Canberra City with gorgeous clinical rooms set up to provide direct therapy to clients.

The responsibilities:
As a practitioner with Capability, you’ll be afforded a diverse client load within different funding streams, such as statutory funding, NDIS funding and private funding options. You will work with the Director of Clinical Services to maintain a diverse, but viable caseload to allow for further development and high quality supports.
- Provide direct, trauma-informed clinical support to Children, Young People, Families and Adults
- Complete comprehensive clinical notes and documentation for clients receiving clinical services
- Lead, hold and participate in reflective practices and
- Identify and develop support strategies for NDIS Clients to encourage their autonomy
- Complete comprehensive Functional Behavioural Assessments and develop high quality Behaviour Support Plans
- Ensure all records are kept to a high standard and uphold client confidentiality
- Ensure supports are delivered in accordance with Capability Clinical Governance Framework
- Responsible for reduction and elimination of Restrictive Practices, as well as the approval of Positive Behaviour Support Plans through the ACT Senior Practitioner.
- Work with the Director of Clinical Services to continue to develop quality based and clinical based governance frameworks and principles.

- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Psychology
- (Preferred) – Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or with Speech Pathology Australia as a Speech Pathologist
- Demonstrated experience working in a clinical environment, preferably with direct clinical experience and/or NDIS Behaviour Support experience.
- Experience in functional behavioural assessment and behaviour support plan development
- Current Behaviour Support Practitioner registration (or willingness to undertake one)
- Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or ability to obtain one) with NDIS Screening (or ability to obtain)
- Valid police check (or willingness to undertake one)
- Valid First Aid / CPR
- Drivers’ license / comprehensive car insurance / available & registered vehicle
