Benefits Coordinator
Office of Human Resources
Location: New Orleans, LA
Summary
A Benefits Coordinator is responsible for transactional duties in relation to administering benefits programs and assists in the counseling of employees regarding the use of benefits in order to provide professional and courteous support to employees in the orientation, implementation, and administration of benefits in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Communicate with providers and employees by assisting in handling general employee benefits-related questions.
- Ensure employees are adequately supported during the open enrollment process; providing a clear description of elections.
- Assist in preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to employees regarding benefits and personnel policies. Assist with the creation of presentations to help train and expand awareness of employee benefit offerings.
- Assist in planning and executing benefits events, including open enrollment and wellness activities.
- Assist with benefits procedures including auditing, reconciling and reporting benefit plan information.
Required Education and/or Experience
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of HR, Benefits or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
Compensation Information
