Job Description:Bid Manager£50,000 to £65,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 5)Manchester/Scunthorpe, in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and our offices in either Manchester or Scunthorpe (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).We’re looking for a Bid Manager to join our Co-op Wholesale team. In this new and exciting role, you’ll be responsible for managing the complete bid lifecycle from early stage bid strategy identification to final submission. We’ll look to you to collaborate closely with internal teams and senior partners, to make sure that any bid strategies align with partner needs and our overall company goals. You’ll manage multiple bids at any one time, making sure we get the right information from our internal teams to create a sales story that will set Co-op apart during the bid process.What you’ll do

  • Engage with prospective clients early in the bid process to fully understand their needs and find opportunities for tailored bid strategies
  • Build and shape our bid writing, creating assets that will help form our bids
  • Assemble and lead bid teams, including identifying and coordinating with knowledgeable internal partners
  • Lead bid meetings as required to set strategy, timescales, and input obligations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Drive technical information from internal partners, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the bid strategy
  • Guide, review, and edit bid submissions to make sure they align with the overall bid vision
  • Attend partner client feedback sessions and coordinate responses to tender queries and amendments

  • Proven experience in managing bid services, with industry expertise and regulatory knowledge
  • Great organisational skills, with the ability to build strong internal relationships
  • Strong project management skills to oversee the entire bid lifecycle
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce articulate bid documents in a simple and professional way
  • The ability to adapt to changing client needs and market conditions, making sure bids remain relevant and competitive
