Job Title: Bid ManagerLocation: London or SwindonSalary: £55,000 to 80,000 per annum depending on experiencePlus car or car allowance.Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for winning? If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to driving success, we want to hear from you.We are on the look out for a proactive and experienced Bid Manager to manage and win tender opportunities. You will collaborate with estimators, planners, procurement, technical services, and business development teams to create winning strategies. Your leadership will ensure that our bid submissions are comprehensive, competitive, and successful.Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and energise the bid team to achieve successful outcomes for each allocated tender.
- Develop a coherent bid strategy in conjunction with the Business Development Manager and Sector Director.
- Oversee and participate in tender commercial strategy.
- Arrange necessary internal meetings (Kick-off, Settlement, etc.) and manage the tender programme.
- Ensure adherence to company and group governance and procedures.
- Produce and manage CRC documentation and ensure actions from meetings are completed.
- Communicate with clients, joint venture partners, and key supply chain members.
- Oversee the involvement of designers and manage their contributions to achieve optimal solutions.
- Coordinate and participate in tender and post-tender meetings/interviews with clients.
- Provide tender feedback and manage the handover to the project delivery team for successful tenders.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Sound knowledge of the UK construction market and relevant legislation and knowledge of Civil Infrastructure Engineering.
- Commercial awareness of different forms of contract
- Strong presentation and client communication skills.
- Familiarity with governance and procedural requirements for work winning.
- Maximise value, provide direction, and take responsibility for your work and development.
- Design solutions, promote continuous improvement, and balance risk with innovative thinking.
- Be proactive, pursue a can-do attitude, and build effective relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Work safely, communicate effectively, and embrace change for business sustainability.
