- Statistical analysis of research data for publications, grant proposals, regulatory reports, and presentations in collaboration with investigators.
- Facilitate the preparation of conference abstracts, development of manuscripts for publication, and preparation of grant proposals.
- Assist PI with troubleshooting by running analyses, cleaning and preparing datasets.
- Ensure quality and integrity of data collection, maintenance, and reporting through regular analysis, cleaning, and audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate.
- Oversee database enhancement projects, working collaboratively with research staff, PIs, software developers, and data scientists.
- Manage data requests from external sources and collaborators.
- Assist with preparation of datasets for deposit into national data repositories, such as those overseen by NIH, etc.
- Investigate novel statistical methods, when appropriate and necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of participant data, in accordance with Institutional Review Board and federal policies.
- Handle secure transmission of patient data, both within the institution (Albert Einstein College of Medicine) and to external approved collaborators.
- Graduate level training in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, population health sciences, public health, medicine or related field is required.
- Completed graduate training at Master’s level or beyond is required.
- Experience (1+ years) in various techniques of data analysis and data management, including longitudinal data analysis, is required.
- Consideration will be given to length of previous employment in comparable or related positions, in particular productivity and experience working on research grants and scientific publications.
- Experience in analyzing genetic data and large datasets is preferred but not required.
- Computing skills using R, Python, SQL, SAS, STATA and other standard software.
- Collaborative research experience in a biomedical research environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding judgment, initiative, and attention to detail are essential.

The biotatistician will join Einstein’s Institute for Aging Research, a leading research program that aims to discover the biological determinants of healthy aging and longevity in humans. The Institute leads four cohort studies of centenarians and their families, as well as participates as a site in two national multi-site studies. The primary responsibility of the position will be to collaborate with research investigators and biostatistics faculty on studies in cognition and aging. Specific duties will include management, analysis and reporting of epidemiological, clinical, laboratory and electronic health records data. The successful candidate will also provide assistance on grant proposals, papers, and presentations.
