Job Description Summary
The Biostatistician will work closely with faculty biostatisticians in the Penn Statistics in Imaging and Visualization Center in and researchers in the Department of Radiology on the statistical analysis of radiological data. The biostatistician will support research consultations and assist with proposal development, analytic plan construction, conducting analyses, and manuscript drafting. The biostatistician will also provide statistical support for various research activities including database management, implementing customized statistical analyses using existing tools with and without modification, programming support for methods and tool development activities, and generating tables and figures for publications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Statistical Analysis including analyzing clinical data using advanced approaches including linear and nonlinear modeling.
  • Write detailed analysis plans and descriptions of analyses and findings for research protocols and grant proposals, and calculate sample size requirements for studies.
  • Helping draft abstracts and manuscripts, as well as generating results, tables, and figures.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Position is contingent upon continued funding.
Qualifications
Master of Science in biostatistics, statistics, and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Applicants must have at least one to two years of experience as a collaborative statistician, a solid training in statistical theory and methods, and proficiency in R statistical software. The applicant should have excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to work independently.
