Bristol City Council is committed to developing and enhancing green space in the city for the
benefit of people and wildlife, through its policies and practices.
We are recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced individual to help the council ensure
a positive strategic approach to blue/green infrastructure is developed for the natural
environment. The resulting strategy will form the basis for delivering nature recovery, urban
greening and the widest environmental benefits within placemaking projects.
This fixed term post will focus on two key areas,
You will work closely with a range of council colleagues who are working on the ecological
emergency, biodiversity net gain, local plan and green space management. and benefit from the
positive working relationships we have with many relevant external organisations who are also
actively working on green matters.
The Blue-Green Infrastructure Strategy role is part of the Urban Design Team, within the
Planning Service. This role would suit a professional with experience of ecology, land-use
planning or green infrastructure. You will contribute positively to the City Council’s
corporate efforts to promote and increase biodiversity, ecological recovery and green
infrastructure for the benefit of people, nature and prosperity of the city.
