Introduction
The Green Climate Fund is the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund and invests in impactful, innovative, catalytic programs and projects in developing countries across the globe. By the end of 2023, GCF had a portfolio of 243 projects in 129 countries, committing a total of USD 13.5 billion to date. 

In 2023, an additional USD 12.8 billion was pledged, to support our new strategic and programming cycle from 2024-2027; our ambition is to grow to become at least a USD 50 billion fund by 2030. Position Objective
The Board Documentation Officer manages the documentation processes essential for the functioning of the organization’s governance mechanisms. This position involves executing a variety of operational and analytical tasks to ensure the smooth operationalization of board documentation processes. The Officer will work to maintain and enhance documentation quality, version control, and overall process efficiency, while also contributing to the development and implementation of new documentation processes as needed.

 

Purpose 

  • Assess the effectiveness and timeliness of board documentation processes, providing feedback and proposing interventions as necessary.
  • Identify and address gaps, issues, and areas for improvement in established processes, designing solutions and conducting research projects as needed.
  • Engage with team members and other divisions to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

 

Engagement

  • Serve as a focal point for board documentation within the organization, collaborating with team members and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution of documentation processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and implement standard processes for documentation work.
  • Support the Head of Board Affairs in coordinating documentation-related activities and resources.

Delivery

  • Analyze and optimize established documentation processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
  • Organize materials and information necessary for the timely execution of documentation work, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of documentation processes through the development and implementation of best practices and technological solutions.

 

Requirements (Education, experience, technical competencies required of the job)

  • Master’s degree in fields such as climate change, environmental sustainability, information or library science, communication, record management, business administration, law and governance, and related fields; or 2 additional years of experience with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a governance or documentation-related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in standard software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in another language is desirable.
