BOSQUE FIELD TECH, Year-round, Full-time/Part-Time, up to 40hrs/wk

These staff positions are with tryfacta (a contract employment agency) and are not City of Albuquerque employment.

Position Description:

Restoration

  • Tracking and managing invasive plants
  • Conduct wildlife surveys for monitoring efforts (birds and mammals)
  • Plant, maintain, and monitor vegetation
  • Work alongside of biologist to assist in project implementation and assessments
  • Maintain past restoration efforts
  • Clean trash and unnatural debris
  • Report issues and violations of ordinances

Recreation

  • Maintaining trails
  • Maintaining recreation areas including trailheads and restrooms

Public Outreach and Education

  • Interface with the public on a regular basis to inform about rules and regulations, trail etiquette, boater safety, public events and education offerings, and respond to general questions and concerns
  • Work alongside volunteers and partners on restoration projects
  • Work alongside youth crews on restoration projects
  • Work with students and partners on citizen science, monitoring and research projects

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Two years of college coursework in Biology, Natural Resources, Ecology, or related scientific fields
  • Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis
  • Passion for the outdoors
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, work outdoors in various weather, and hike up to 5 miles a day

Requirements for Employment:

  • Pass a background check, drug test, and possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a New Mexico Driver’s License and City Operator’s Permit (COP) to be able to drive a City vehicle for program work

Work location: All Open Space properties throughout Albuquerque
