Posting Context Statement The University of Idaho (U of I) is Idaho’s Land-Grant Institution. U of I’s University Communications and Marketing (UCM) is looking for a Brand Marketing Manager who can apply their marketing expertise to a brand with a purpose. This position will report to the Director of Marketing.
Position Overview This position is responsible for understanding our target audiences and developing marketing campaigns that position our brand according to those motivators. These marketing campaigns will not only drive audience engagement but will further define our brand’s reputation and image related to the market.
Duties may include:

  • Manage, write and edit marketing material production across various mediums
  • Work with leadership to develop marketing strategy
  • Work independently to develop subsequent marketing plans and initiatives
  • Coordinate with consultants and agency partners to produce content
  • Conduct consumer and market research
  • Identify how our brand is currently positioned in the market
  • Design research-based brand campaigns
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns aimed at communicating our brand message
  • Lead marketing team members through campaigns
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI), measure and report on success of marketing campaigns based on established KPIs
  • Anticipate consumer trends and keep brand up to date
  • Lead and manage brand influencer program
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

Required Experience
  • Three years working in the marketing/brand development/social media space to include the following:
    • Writing marketing plans
    • Analyzing marketing data to inform marketing direction
    • Directing creative development
    • Supervising and directing the work of individuals or leading project teams
    • Managing media buys
    • Web authoring experience
    • Social Media management
    • Content Marketing story identification, development and versioning specific to published platforms
    • Graphic Design experience
    • Photo and video shoot art direction
    • Agency coordination
    • Project management

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or Public Relations; four additional years of experience (for a total of seven years) may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree
Required Other
  • This position may be required to work outside of standard business hours
  • This position may require occasional travel
Additional Preferred
  • Experience with:
    • using a content management system for publishing web content
    • working in higher education
    • producing and editing informational and marketing collateral
    • project management applications
  • Knowledge of:
    • digital and social media marketing strategies
    • management and supervisory techniques
    • Digital marketing best practices
  • Deep understanding of GA4
