Position description
The Department of Politics at Brandeis University invites applications for a tenure-track position in International Relations at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in academic year 2025-2026. This position is subject to budget approval. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests focus on one or more of these areas: international conflict and cooperation; foreign policy; national security; and war and peace. Duties include the teaching of undergraduate courses in International Relations, including Introduction to International Relations, one or more courses on a topic listed above, and more specialized offerings; undergraduate thesis advising; and departmental and university service.
The course load is two courses per semester.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand by August 2025. Applicants should submit a cover letter; curriculum vitae; a statement of research and teaching interests (including potential course offerings and, where available, syllabi and student evaluations); a statement on diversity, equity, and inclusion; two chapters or article-length writing samples; and names and contact information for three referees.
