Job Description

We are currently recruiting an Associate Engineer with vast experience in bridge design , to join our busy and expanding experienced team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of Projects, either as standalone bridge commissions or as part of multidisciplinary major projects. Our internal clients work for private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our group has an established track record of successfully delivering bridge engineering design for many years, throughout USA, Australia, Canada or Middle East. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for the Europe Global Delivery Center (Poland/Spain).
The responsibilities of this role include
Perform the role of Discipline Lead (Bridges and Structures) on large-size projects supported by EC. The Discipline Lead is in charge of the team assigned to the project and is responsible of the project delivery.
Makes day-to-day decisions for a technical team, integrating resources from different EC offices (Spain, Poland, India…)
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts and conducts complex value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs, materials, construction techniques
Categorizes packages of work to be done by EC, elaborates project execution plans and in combination with internal clients defines the delivery strategy, including composition of design teams
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others. Approves and signs off on work
Accountable for the results of the team and adherence to agreed budget for a specific package of work
Delivers effective communication inclusive of internal clients and team members to clarify expectations and requirements
Trains, mentors and evaluates less experienced staff (within the Europe GDC or other GDC).
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Proven track record of working on bridges and/or structures designs and collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams (+18 years)
Experience with international regulations and standards (i.e AASTHO; AREMA, Aus-Codes; BS, etc.)
Proficiency in engineering calculation software for bridge and structures (preferable Midas Civil, but others as CSiBridge are well considered)
Proven strong experience in, performing technical review of complex projects
Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System
Team management experience and client management experience.
Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorably
Fluent in English (oral and written)
Preferred Qualifications
Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University
US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favourably
