If you have experience of environmental education, working in partnership with schools and of
delivering change for nature on the ground – matched by a natural enthusiasm for engaging and
inspiring young people – we would love to hear from you.

The Bristol & Weston Wild Spaces Project Officer will coordinate delivery of a new project
funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project will focus on creating Wild Spaces
within primary school grounds across Bristol and Weston-super-Mare, inspiring and supporting
children and adults alike to learn about and take action to help butterflies and moths.

Wild Spaces is Butterfly Conservation’s flagship engagement programme. It provides a simple and
easy way for everyone to get involved and make a difference to help butterflies and moths.

Wild Spaces are all around us. They are the flowers in our window boxes, the pots on our
patios, the patches of weeds in our gardens or allotments, and the wildflower meadows in our
churchyards and parks. They provide space for nature to thrive and places for people to access
and enjoy.

Butterfly Conservation has set a strategic goal to create 100,000 Wild Spaces by 2026,
including through delivery of flagship projects across the UK. You can find out more at www.wild-spaces.co.uk. If you are excited about the prospects of working for a leading wildlife
charity, please read through the job description and person specification, to see if you have
the right skills to join the team.

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

Closing date: Midday Friday 01 December 2023

Interviews will take place on 14 December 2023.

We believe our work has never been more important.

Wildlife is in steep decline across the UK and over three-quarters of butterflies and
two-thirds of moths are declining. We recognise it needs a great team with a wide variety of
skills to tackle the problems facing butterflies, moths and the environment.

Our staff and volunteers are proud to be part of Butterfly Conservation and are dedicated to
making a difference to the environment we live in. We understand the importance of maintaining
and expanding our expert and valued team of people and offer a range of roles located all over
the UK, from the peat bogs in Scotland to the post room in Dorset.
