Work Schedule 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday with frequent evening, weekend, and holiday hours required in accordance with events schedule.
This position is designated as ‘mandatory’ and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions.
Primary Purpose of Position This position will report to the Assistant Director of Broadcasting, and will serve as the producer for sporting events aired on the ESPN Digital Network, in-venue video board shows, or university events. The broadcast producer is responsible for working alongside the broadcast staff to ensure that productions are properly supported.
Coordinating and assisting with live productions is the primary responsibility of the Broadcast Producer. This position will assist with traditional event setup such as setting up cameras, building broadcast booths, running cable, etc.) as well as serve in various broadcast roles in the control room and out in the field.
Minimum Education/Experience Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience related to the area of assignment in a broadcast television, radio and emerging media environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency and completion of a two-year technical school program in electronics and two years of experience in media technology; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Essential Job Duties

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
  • Degree in Videography, Communications, Broadcasting, or other technical fields and 6 months of industry experience in broadcasting or video production.
  • Direction and Production of Live Sporting Events.
  • Proficient in directing ESPN+ broadcasts.
  • Proficient in Ross XPression and other video production equipment.
  • Experience working in a broadcast control room.
