Could you help us support and grow the community of botanists in England?
About the role
An opportunity has arisen to become BSBI’s England Officer for a one-year pilot project. The
post holder will work with and support a dedicated network of County Recorders, local groups and partner organisations
in England whose common characteristic is a love of
plants.
The role aims to build a diverse community of botanists; increase participation in structured
surveys and botanical recording; improve data flow; and drive a passion for plants. This
includes supporting and enhancing BSBI’s England volunteer network, promoting recording and
project work, providing and facilitating training in a range of topics, and raising the profile
of botany and BSBI.
Working within our small, friendly staff team who operate remotely across Britain and Ireland,
the post holder would work from home at a location in England.
We are looking for someone with strong people, communication and project management skills
along with experience in field botany, biological recording and training delivery. The chosen
candidate will have the opportunity to work with and support an amazing community of botanists
in England and make a positive difference for our
wild plants.
