Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Budget Office, Registry, under the supervision and direction of the Budget Officer.
Responsibilities
• Assists in the preparation of supporting documents (narrative and supporting tables) with respect to finalization of cost estimates and budget proposals, in terms of staff and non-staff requirements. Prepare spreadsheets, overview of requirements for the new budget submission, produce pivot tables and graphs to facilitate approval of the new budget proposal by the senior management. • Supports the Budget Officer in extracting information and generating expenditure reports from computerized information system databases (such as UMOJA); assists in preliminary analyses of the extracted information and the reports generated, and highlights areas of concern for the attention of the Budget Officer. • Assists in the development of resource requirements for budget submission and in the preparation of budget performance report. • Researches/compiles data and other information required by the Budget Officer in the review and analysis of relevant proposals. • Assists the Budget Officer in the preparation/finalization of budget performance report, performing preliminary analysis of variances between approved budgets and actual expenditures. • Checks availability of funds for purchase request for goods and services; makes necessary adjustments. • Verifies accuracy data input, ensuring data consistency in previous allotments to new allotments issued. • Prepares draft financial reports, verifying overall accuracy, consistency and uniformity in the presentation, and ensuring comprehensiveness and compliance with the format prescribed; cross-checks consistency of figures in tables with the text of the reports, and verifies references to other reports and documents, bringing errors to the attention of the Budget Officer; ensures that all necessary corrections are incorporated in the reports

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job – Specific Qualification
Proficiency in the use of office applications (Word Processing and Spreadsheets) is required.
Work Experience
Minimum of (5) five years of progressively responsible experience in finance/budget or related field is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 3 (three) years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience with financial databases as well as work in an ERP system is required. Experience with electronic budget systems is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the Mechanism For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of French is desirable.
Assessment

Special Notice
• This position is temporarily available for 6 months .
