The USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, located at the USC Health Sciences Campus, is seeking a detail-oriented Budget/Business Technician to support the Department of Pharmacology & Pharmaceutical Sciences with the administration of the day- to- day purchasing and administrative operations. Duties will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Processing purchase requests from faculty and labs through Workday and using Pcards.
  • Invoice tracking and payment reconciliation.
  • Working with labs, A/P, and vendors to resolve payment issues.
  • Recording and reconciling internal purchasing records and department accounts.
  • Preparing and processing travel/supply reimbursements for faculty and students through Concur.
  • Preparing internal requisitions, supplier invoice requests, and other functions in Workday.
  • Assisting with coordinating meetings and seminars.
  • Supporting faculty with teaching activities.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or requested. The university, school, and department reserve the right to add or change duties at any time.

The Budget/Business Technician will report to the Office Manager and work closely with faculty, students, and other staff members.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree

Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), a strong financial and accounting acumen, ability to follow through with assigned tasks within established timeframes and with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Must be skilled in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

Applicant must ensure confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information, including but not limited to staff or faculty files.

The hourly rate range for this position is $24.00 – $27.00.
