Job Description:Business OverviewDigital Banking Technology (within CIB) delivers solutions for multiple lines of business; including GIB (Global Investment Banking) and GCB (Global Corporate Banking). You will be one of the Product Owners responsible for delivering world-class software applications.Role DescriptionThe Digital Banking Technology team are looking for a Business Analyst / Product Owner to join their Deal Execution team which supports Front Office Banking and associated functions. The role involves managing multiple stakeholders and product partners, to deliver best in class solutions.The role will be responsible for the design, analysis and program management of multiple software applications, across a wide sector of the Banking business – with a key focus on Business Controls & Efficiency.The ability to engage with users, perform detailed process / workflow analysis, data analysis and ideate logical, efficient solutions are essential elements in our design process. The role will have significant connectivity with upstream data providers and directly with bankers, our primary customers.Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute value streams that drive business value, and align with the wider technology strategy
- Lead a program autonomously, providing relevant communications to clients and management, dealing with escalation as needed
- Track return of investment, and actively work towards higher value realisation
- Undertake analysis of complex client workflows and datasets
- Design solutions in partnership with end users (Bankers, Business Management, Control Management), the UX team, architecture and software engineering feature teams
- Define the delivery of features for a program of work by articulating user-stories, writing functional and non-functional requirements and executing a clear release with appropriate marketing, feedback tracking and follow up
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the team, understanding our client’s needs and business drivers to shape appropriate solutions
- Ensure appropriate use of data in feature development and continuous improvement of data standards with the wider firm data strategy
- Be responsible and accountable to the quality of the end-user experience through user research, metrics and stakeholder relationships; including the influencing of prioritisation and direction
Skills/ Qualifications
- BS/BA degree or equivalent
- At least 5-7 years of experience in a business analyst, product owner or equivalent role in understanding business requirements
- Hands on experience in the functional design of complex enterprise systems
- Detailed understanding & experience in end-to-end software development frameworks like Agile / Scrum
- Well versed with JIRA or similar agile project management software creating stories, tracking story progress, etc.
- Experience in managing senior business stakeholders in global context
- Track record in working with stakeholders in different geographies
- A commercial mind-set to deliver short, medium and long term strategies to achieve sustained efficiency; an innovative thought process; focus on simplification;
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goal
- Nice to have: Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD) including, but not limited to, context maps, context cards, anti-corruption layer, etc.
