Job Summary:
The Business and Employability Officer, under the overall supervision of Director of Programs and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, will be responsible for day-to-day activities of the project. S/he has direct contact with stakeholders. The business and employability officer should specialize in mentoring support for young entrepreneurs participating. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding participants in drafting effective business plans, creating budget plans, and providing ongoing support and monitoring to ensure the success of their ventures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of Director of Programs and direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Employer Outreach shall perform the following duties:
1. Assist in project implementation in all its phases in the covered areas of scope of works;
2. Act as a focal point between job seekers and job providers;
3. To ensure transparent, accurate and timely collection of quantitative and qualitative data and information;
4. To ensure a regular, effective and comprehensive transmission of information to supervisors
5. Ensure collected data is accurately recorded and cross-check information with the database entry;
6. Interview and assist job provider interview candidates;
7. Document all the findings in the provided data collection tools;
8. Identify and report any challenges faced.
9. Report to the supervisor before and after day’s work for further direction;
10. Conduct one-on-one and group sessions to teach participants how to draft comprehensive and effective business plans.
11. Provide guidance on market research, product/service positioning, and business model development.
12. Instruct participants on the principles of budgeting and financial management.
13. Assist in the creation of realistic budget plans aligned with grant requirements and long-term business sustainability.
14. Establish and maintain mentorship relationships with grant recipients, offering guidance and advice on various business challenges.
15. Conduct regular check-ins to assess progress, address concerns, and provide ongoing support.
16. Organize and facilitate workshops on business plan drafting, budget planning, and other relevant entrepreneurial skills.
17. Develop and distribute educational resources to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills.
18. Ongoing Monitoring and Evaluation: Implement a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track the progress of participants in implementing their business plans and budget strategies.
19. Adjust mentoring and support strategies based on the identified needs of individual participants.
20. Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
 
 
 
 

 
 
· Bachelor’s degree in business, entrepreneurship, or a related field; Advanced degrees (Master’s or MBA) are preferred
· At least two years of related experience in the humanitarian field;
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills mainly in Kurdish and Arabic, English language is a plus;
· Proven experience in business development, grant management, or mentoring;
· Strong understanding of small business challenges, particularly among youth entrepreneurs;
· Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills;
· Good communication skills and experience in participatory methodology;
· Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision;
· Strong organizational skills;
· High professional ethics and confidentiality standards in a diverse workplace;
· Flexibility with regard to long working hours or working in weekends if required;
