Women Empowerment Organization is implementing this project which aims to  create sustainable employment opportunities for youths in Erbil, Dohuk and Sulaymaniyah governorates through skill building, job placement opportunities, and business start-up training and grants.

 

Position Summary:

The Business Consultant will play a vital role in providing expert guidance and support to individuals who have received business grants as part of the project aimed at enhancing sustainable employment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The consultant will work closely with grantees to ensure the successful establishment and growth of their businesses, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct one-on-one and group sessions to teach participants how to draft comprehensive and effective business plans.

2. Work closely with grant recipients to refine and enhance their business plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and market needs.

3. Assist in the creation of realistic budget plans aligned with grant requirements and long-term business sustainability.

4. Provide guidance on financial management practices to ensure efficient utilization of grant funds.

5. Establish and maintain mentorship relationships with grant recipients, offering guidance and advice on various business challenges.

6. Conduct regular check-ins to assess progress, address concerns, and provide ongoing support in overcoming business obstacles.

7. Organize and facilitate workshops on business plan drafting, budget planning, and other relevant entrepreneurial skills.

8. Develop and distribute educational resources to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills, fostering continuous learning.

9. Conduct market assessments to identify opportunities for diversification and innovation in participants’ businesses.

10. Provide insights and recommendations for adapting business strategies based on market trends and needs.

11. Engage with local businesses, stakeholders, and government representatives to understand market dynamics and potential challenges.

12. Foster partnerships that can enhance the support network for grant recipients and contribute to the project’s overall success.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Proven experience in business development, entrepreneurship, or consultancy roles.

3. Expertise in providing business development support and guidance.

4. Familiarity with financial management, budgeting, and market analysis.

5. Excellent coaching and mentoring skills.

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

7. Previous experience working in Iraq or a similar context is an advantage.

8. Ability to travel to project areas for on-site support.
