COOPI is officially registered in Kurdish Region of Iraq and in Federal Iraq and has been active in Iraq since end of 2016 when started implementing a series projects in Education sector in Mosul district with funding from AICS and private donors. In 2019, COOPI started with WASH programming and emergency cash interventions in Salah ad Din governorate. In 2022 COOPI bring WASH, education, child protection, and livelihoods programming in Iraq

Under the project “Promoting Social Cohesion Stabilization through Young People Skilling, Employability, Entrepreneurship and Social Engagement in Mosul and Sinjar” funded by UNCIEF the following activities are planned establishment of innovation labs, Provision of Skills development activities, Provide Youth Empowerment through seed funding and employment services activities, training programs on creating CVs, Cover Letters and Job-seeking, engaging young people in joint community development initiatives contributing to social cohesion and social peace and Capacity development of Youth Advisory Group in Mosul and Sinjar.

Article 3. Nature of the services: Under the supervision of LHH Project Manager, the Business Consultant is responsible for the technical planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring and reporting of the field activities  such as seed funds, job fair, coordination with private sector and for ensuring proper coordination with the programmatic partner, beneficiaries and related COOPI departments. The position requires extensive field work and possible trips to Erbil.

 

Objective 1: To ensure timely and quality implementation of project activities

  • Participate and design, implementation and beneficiaries selection process for project activities such as LSCE Trarining, seed funds, internships, joba fair event….etc.
  • To support and supervise training on Business plan, business management and financial literacy, disbursement of seed fund activities.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring session to develop business plan and follow-up after the disbursement of seed funds
  • Participate in the selection commeetee to identify business to be granted seed funding and youths for the internship opportunities
  • If requested by the LHH PM organize meetings to provide feedback to the youths on the submitted business plan, based on the committee decisions/comments.
  • To conduct household visits, focus group discussions and key informant interviews upon the request of LHH PM;
  • To provide verbal and written reports on the activities to the LHH PM as deducted in Work Plan;
  • Ensure the timely implementation of field activities as per the predefined schedule;
  • Inform and document the anomalies and the challenges carried out during the implementation phase of the program;
  • To participate in the briefing and induction sessions given to stakeholders and field team.

 

Objective 2: Stakeholders coordination

  • Coordination in the field with the local partners on best implementation including participants, and communities affected by the project activities;
  • Conduct a market assessment mapping of internship opportunities and engage with private and non-profit sector to inform about the program so to develop partnership opportunities for internship (20)
  • Support in building relationships between COOPI, project partner, local authorities, municipalities and communities.

 

Objective 3: Data collection and reporting

  • File, document and report work progress to the line manager on weekly basis;
  • Regular collecting and consolidating the reports of the micro-business assistants;
  • Regular reporting of work progress to the LHH PM;
  • Participate in coordination meetings with LHH PM and project Partners
  • Report possible problems or conflicts during the activities;
  • Report the use of materials and possible improvement.

Objective 4: Support all COOPI activities

  • Support COOPI interventions, as per the employee’s competences;
  • Support any activity that helps achieving COOPI humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s capacities;
  • Participate in new assessments;
  • Support other activities if it is needed;

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Experience:

  • University degree on economic development topic/Social Studies/Environmental Studies/Education or related qualifications;
  • Experience in LHH in Emergency of at least 2 years
  • Previous experience in conducting assessments and data entry.

  • Knowledge in technical training in implementation of TVET and micro-business support
