Role Purpose

The British Councils English and Examinations Strategic Business Unit includes a significant business client base. It is part of our commercial strategy moving forward for the evolving Corporate English Solutions (CES) division to professionalise and develop our approach and to grow this income stream.
CES Business Development Executives (BDE) will play a key role in supporting and driving the commercial growth of sales to corporate clients by:
– identifying and connecting with potential new clients (prospecting)
– responding to potential new opportunities and enquiries (lead management)

Capture and manage data to help build insight around our corporate audience and the sales and marketing effectiveness of our corporate business (business data and intelligence)

Main opportunities/challenges for this role:
Prospecting

Uses target profiles and business intelligence to identify potential clients (prospects)
Makes initial contact with prospects
Share resources and content to present our products, services to nurture prospects and establish interest and intent.
Ensures new leads are captured in CRM appropriately.

Lead Management
Responds to all inbound corporate enquiries from within the assigned sales territory
Ensure a response within an agreed Service Level Agreement.
Provides appropriate information on British Council products and services
Undertakes basic needs analysis with new enquiries, to establish intent and assess opportunity size and type.
Qualifies new leads based on a global framework to build sales Opportunities.
Passes qualified opportunities to Country/Cluster B2B Sales Mgrs.
Maintains regular contact with the client until a Lead is either converted to an Opportunity or closed.

Business data and intelligence
Captures and manages client data in CRM and other business systems.
Responds to CRM workflows relating to leads that have been assigned.
Contributes to reporting on sales, service, and marketing activity.
Review data sources with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve performance

Managing self and others
Tasks and coordinates others (e.g. internal colleagues or external contractors/suppliers) to complete time-limited, straightforward activities, within established procedures, to ensure efficient delivery of services. Monitors task completion to agreed quality and time standards

About You (essential requirements for the role):

3+ years of customer management experience
Familiarity with Salesforce or use of similar CRM
Proficiency in Microsoft office programs
Local language at C2 level for speaking and writing. English level at B2 speaking and writing
University degree or equivalent in a relevant subject or discipline

Desirable requirements:
Sales related experience in large sectors (e.g financial services, media, pharmaceuticals tourism etc)
Sales or Marketing qualifications
