Never standing still, we see limitless possibilities for our solutions; and our knowledge sharing, collaboration and innovative thinking are just a few of the ways we fuel our energy for what we doJob DescriptionIn conjunction with his/her scope of responsibilities (geographical, segment of activity, client, …), the Business Development & Sales Manager initiates, develops and maintains relationships with Authorities, Clients, Partners and key stakeholders, maintains accurate knowledge of the market, initiates or supports Marketing actions, in order to implement the Commercial strategy and meet order intake objectives, through a set of activities here below categorized under Business Development and Sales Management.Specifically this Business Development & Sales Manager will be the focal point in developing opportunities for projects and Clients established in United Kingdom and in geographies where Technip Energies sees opportunities for its proprietary technologies, with a major focus on the Middle East.Business Development

  • Gathers, consolidates and shares knowledge related to the business environment of his/her area of responsibility, and in particular related to clients, partners / competitors and local market peculiarities (local content requirement, specific legal and fiscal regimes, forex issues). This typically involves to establish and maintain sustainable relationships with the relevant management and technical / commercial departments of national stakeholders, Clients and Partners organizations, through regular visits, as well to leverage the knowledge gathered by the rest of Technip Energies organization (ongoing projects, other business units and operating centres, etc). The above market understanding and analysis includes in particular client organizations, investment plans, key personnel, decision making processes, key selection criteria, as well, with regard to partners / competitors, financial and operational conditions, organization, workload, strengths and weaknesses, commercial strategies and pricing trends
  • Monitors prospects, identifying targets and providing advanced information in order to establish commercial strategies before ITB is received
  • Defines the commercial strategy including internal and external partnerships.
  • Prepares and leads pre-tendering strategy meetings, in order to obtain Technip Energies management validation of the commercial strategy,
  • Launches and follows through compliance activities to validate external partners,
  • Defines Partnering Agreement principles and negotiates MoUs with external partners. Acts as focal point for this purpose,
  • Provides inputs and supervises preparation for prequalifications in line with Client requirements and the commercial strategy.

Sales Management

  • Prepares and leads gate meetings in view of obtaining approval to tender
  • Acts as focal point with external stakeholders (Client, Partner, …)
  • Leads preparation and negotiation of JV/Consortium agreements with external partners
  • Prepares compliance dossiers and ensures satisfactory implementation, in line with Technip Energies principles
  • Throughout the proposal preparation and clarification / negotiation phases, provides commercial guidance and support to the proposal team, by:
  • interfacing with client & partners, and maintaining high quality exchanges
  • providing inputs for the team to best match Client’s key technical and commercial selection criteria
  • updating the team with market information
  • leading the preparation of contractual negotiations and other key meetings with client and partners, and leading such meetings,
  • organizing internal meetings to ensure alignment business and operations, as well as resolve ahead of gate meetings and submission dates, resolution on specific topics, as the case may be (i.e. execution plan, technological challenges, schedule, pricing, T&Cs, …)
  • providing commercial inputs for the SUBMIT & SIGN meetings

About you:Essentials

  • Extensive experience in business development and sales management, including substantial experience in the energy sector
  • Degree in Engineering ideally, but will also consider applicants from a Business background that hold some technical understanding
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in multicultural environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work simultaneously on multiple opportunities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills with ability to actively listen and analyse
  • Prior experience in complex project execution or Proposal Management
  • Industrial or project experience in the fuels or chemicals sectors is a must.
  • Experience of licensed process technologies, and their commercial aspects, is a must.

Nice to have (can be acquired “on the job”):

  • Working experience of technology areas particular to current opportunities, e.g.: Blue Hydrogen, Sustainable Aviation Fuels, Process Technology Licensing, Biofuels, Green Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Floating Offshore Wind.
  • Familiarity with energy industry commercial structures, contracts, and approval cycles.
  • Working experience and existing relationships in key client organisations.
  • International experience
  • Experience related to ethylene production or derivatives would be advantageous.
  • Working experience in the Middle East would be advantageous
  • Thorough knowledge of company organization, portfolio of activities and technologies, main references.,

This role will be on a remote basis with occasional travel to the UK offices, although key travel requirements will be dependent upon client locations and needs.
