The Role:
Business Development Officer’s role is to support the planning, coordination, securing of restricted income to enable delivery of country strategy. This role will support in developing and submitting concept paper and proposal, provide technical oversight and expertise in bid management and update information for new opportunities.
What we are looking for:
The Business Development Officer comes under Portfolio Department. This position is responsible for providing their expertise in bid management, updating information for various opportunities and developing and submitting concept papers and proposals. We are looking for someone who have the following experience, knowledge and competencies.
- Some experience and / or knowledge in managing funds from institutional donors, and understanding of their rules and regulations (e.g., FCDO, ECHO, EU, UN Agencies)
- Sound project planning skills and understanding of Programme Cycle Management in humanitarian and/or development environments.
- Familiarity with log frame construction, project budgeting principles and handling of basic statistics
- Sound skills in capacity building in relation to donor contract management and programme development
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to deliver to often tight deadlines; self-motivated and target driven.
- Highly developed interpersonal, influencing and relationship skills.
- Ability to analyse questions and collect appropriate information to respond.
- Good administrative and numerical skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated organisational awareness and understanding of knowledge management.
- Ability to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint to intermediate level.

- Willingness to travel to field locations as necessary to support staff or partners.
