This organisation is a leading non-profit dedicated to providing quality support options, accommodation, employment, and training for people with disabilities and children facing adversity.

Role responsibilities

The Business Development Specialist will play a critical role in achieving organisational growth objectives. You will identify, plan and drive activity in your target market to expand your network and raise awareness of the organisation.

You will horizon scan to source new opportunities and target markets and will work in collaboration with internal stakeholders to nurture these new relationships.

  • Identify and develop positive relationships with individuals and organisations aligned with the disability services sector to grow referral pathways.
  • Communicate technical and product knowledge with confidence.
  • Source opportunities for new strategic partnerships, and build on existing relationships with stakeholders, providing solutions where needed or increasing services provided.
  • Ensure new clients are supported appropriately and receive the best match from the services on offer.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders (service development, operations, and marketing/communications to name a few key teams) to best respond to the opportunities in the market such as potential clients and referral pathways.
  • Planning, and delivering on projects on time and within budget.
  • Frequent travel will be an element of this role, to target key markets and regions.

Essential Requirements

You will be driven, passionate, and able to work autonomously – but be able to check in when required to ensure you are aligning with business processes and organisational objectives.

  • You will have relevant sector experience and an existing network in this space.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify new opportunities and be comfortable understanding and interpreting contracts and other corporate documentation.
  • Be outcomes-driven with a proven track record of successfully meeting KPIs – with exceptional time management and project management skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency and record-keeping skills with a discipline for follow-up to foster relationships.
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and to have an unrestricted driver’s license, as well as be able to show proof of 3 Covid vaccinations.
