The Role:

As a Business Finance Analyst you will be responsible for supporting the Commercial Finance Managers in the Workplace business, providing analysis and insight in order to enhance and support decision making across the Workplace team. You’ll use your knowledge, skills and experience to work across teams and segments, supporting all financial processes namely Budgeting, Forecasting and monthly cost management of capital projects. Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance – Workplace Investment, the role will be focused towards the Developments and operational portfolio performance enhancement.

The Team:

Highly commercial role within the Workplace Commercial Finance team focussing on driving business performance through financial analysis, insights and improved reporting.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Support the Commercial Finance Managers with key business and development performance analysis, financial modelling and customer/supplier risk assessments
  • Build and sustain great relationships across the Workplace business unit, including the Investment and Development teams, and group finance.
  • Partner with the Development Commercial Finance Managers to lead on some development appraisals, maintain cashflows and prepare key returns & capex reporting
  • Own the Workplace consolidated capex forecast and associated reporting, partnering with Commercial Finance Managers, to drive accurate and complete cashflows and analysis on committed/uncommitted spend. This supports the Investment Finance Manager at key asset valuation points and informs FP&A and treasury decisions
  • Input into budgets, Strat Plans and forecasts as required and be an advanced user of the OneStream planning tool
  • Help to improve management reporting and provide key business insight to the Workplace stakeholders and the Investor Relations team, when required
  • Support the team with monthly internal reporting and half yearly external reporting, promoting a culture of continuous process improvement
  • Provide adhoc analysis and project support as required.

Your skills, experience and qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • Part qualified / newly qualified finance professional
  • Previous business analyst experience
  • Experience of analysing, manipulating and presenting data and information for both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen and ability to assess key risks and opportunities
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.
  • Highly numerate preferably with real estate experience
  • Excellent report writing and presentation drafting skills
  • High-level knowledge of excel
  • Technologically savvy
  • Ability to digest changing market conditions and apply industry knowledge to different situations
  • Ability to communicate and influence different stakeholder groups, both internal and external

  • Experience in asset / investment activity
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment
  • Previous use of Argus
  • Previous use of OneStream
  • Previous use of Power BI
  • Development appraisal experience
  • Knowledge of property management
