Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Business Manager is a senior member of the Business Operations team and provides financial, personnel, and administrative guidance for the Office of OneIT. The BM is responsible for day-to-day operations including contract administration, procurement, budget, personnel, workflows, research/analysis/reporting, and special projects in support of the division.
The Business Manager has primary oversight for IT-related contract administration campus-wide, proactively managing both the OneIT contract process and reviewing/facilitating all software and IT-related contracts and purchases at UNC Charlotte. This position’s financial responsibilities include management of the division’s specialized infrastructure budgets, purchasing approvals, and reporting. The Business Manager supervises business team staff.
The Business Manager maintains an up-to-date knowledge of appropriate business practices, policies, and procedures to efficiently and effectively manage and coordinate departmental financial, personnel, procurement, compliance, auditing, inventory, and facility needs. This position serves as a primary resource for OneIT staff on business process, budget, and personnel matters and serves as a liaison to other offices across campus.
The Business Manager develops processes and procedures to improve/streamline existing business processes, eliminate redundancies, and ensure efficiency. This position interprets and monitors administrative processes to ensure and facilitate divisional compliance with university policies and procedures.

Minimum Experience / Education:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years experience managing and reconciling budgets with large volume of revenue/expenses ($1+ million)
• Experience supervising permanent full-time staff

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

• 2+ years experience with contract review processes
• Higher education experience
• Experience with UNC Charlotte systems: Banner, 49er Mart, Malibu
• Experience working with leadership and presenting information in various formats
