About the role
The Business Partner – Finance will have the opportunity to join a high performing Finance Team and partner with ground-breaking researchers in neuroscience.
You will support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to manage day to day financial activities as well as identify and implement improvements to current policies, work practices, systems and controls.
Your focus will be on establishing and managing strong and mutually well-informed working relationships with research group leaders, managers and external stakeholders.
Outcomes of this position
- Manage the end-to-end monthly reporting process
- Work with key stakeholder on the interpretation of financial reports, expenditure spend planning, budget discussions
- Assist in the completion of external financial reporting including grants, trusts and foundations, infrastructure funding, bequests, AAMRI survey and annual insurance reviews
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecast
- Continuously review and identify business improvement opportunities to deliver efficiencies
- Provide regular training to group leaders and managers to raise financial literacy across NeuRA
- Provide support on other financial matters such as the development of business cases, system implementation, benchmarking, audit, insurance and other financial analysis
Success factors
- – Tertiary qualification in Accounting
- – Membership of either Certified Practicing Accountants or Institute of Chartered Accountants
- – Prior experience in management accounting, budgeting and financial reporting
- – Experience in process and systems implementation and improvement
- – Experience in managing staff
- – High degree of proficiency in Excel and Word
- – Excellent written and verbal communication skills – enabling effective liaison with all stakeholders
