This is a 100% Contract position for 1 year with the possibility of extension or conversion to career status.

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Financial Aid, Business Systems, the Business Process Analyst is a project leader responsible for functions that are of major scope and complexity including developing, implementing, maintaining and executing financial aid and scholarship in-house systems for the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office.

In this role, the incumbent applies skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry-wide business process and analysis practices and organizational policies and procedures. The Business Process and Data Analyst utilizes third party software such as Slate CRM and Microsoft Access to support critical business processes including but not limited to the College Financing Plan (CFP) calculations for preparing student aid offers; origination and processing of Alternative Loans; and Satisfactory Academic Process (SAP) monitoring.

Skills and knowledge include strong technical knowledge and experience in similar student systems environment, project management experience, and excellent written and verbal skills. Actual experience in scheduling, executing, and maintaining in house systems and business processes as well as quality control analysis and comprehensive testing and reporting is required.

This is a one-year contract position providing backfill support for the Student Information System Enterprise System Renewal (SIS ESR) with high likelihood for a multiple year commitment.

This position is eligible for hybrid work (1 day per week on site).

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and 3 years of relevant experience, and / or combination of equivalent education / experience / training.

  • Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid business processes.

  • Thorough Knowledge of related areas of IT. Demonstrated superior understanding of logic, understanding of advanced computer systems and automated data processing and web based technology, including a general knowledge of current development and technology in the data processing/telecommunications field, knowledge of computer interface media, data communication and their data formatting, storage, transporting, and backup capabilities.

  • Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture.

  • In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.

  • Thorough knowledge of business processes and procedures. Ability to consult with, understand and interpret users’ data needs and develop new business processes using third party software to meet those needs. (For example, analysis, projection studies and statistical reports.)

  • Demonstrated testing and test planning skills. Demonstrated experience with difficult beta testing and quality assurance for program/module enhancements and modifications to support complex financial aid business processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to train users in a positive and thorough manner on the use of software support tools, automated systems, data transfer and IBM mainframe access. Excellent interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to communicate in a helpful, effective and informative manner in person, by telephone, and by email.

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of administrative and student service information systems in a pc-based network environment.

  • Proven project leadership ability and experience in organizing the work of several staff engaged in the development, implementation and maintenance of sophisticated networked applications.

  • Demonstrated experience in quality control processes and analytical review of data and processes to ensure accuracy of outcomes.

  • Knowledge of student information systems and related financial systems that are required to deliver mission critical services.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of their party tools such as SQL and Access.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to frequent interruptions and a fluctuating workload, including the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while handling multiple priorities.

    • Duties may require direct contact with children (defined as individuals under the age of 18). Completion of the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) form is required.

    • Job offer is contingent upon a satisfactory clearance based on background check results.

    • The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where expectations for performance and productivity are high.

    • Available to work evenings/weekends during peak periods; some domestic travel may be expected.

    Pay Transparency Act

    Annual Full Pay Range: $74,300 – $134,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

    Hourly Equivalent: $35.58 – $64.42

    Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
