Description of Work Unit The Division of Information Technology, the central IT organization for Colorado State University-Ft. Collins, supports the land-grant heritage of the institution as well as the university’s missions of teaching and learning, research, and service. The Division of IT is responsible for delivering enterprise and campus focused IT services for the Ft. Collins campus as well as throughout the CSU-System. Areas of responsibility include Enterprise Applications & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity & Privacy, Strategy & Planning, and Experience & Collaboration

Position Summary Reporting to the Executive Director of HCM Implementation, the Human Capital Management (HCM) Business Process Transformation Analyst will play a crucial role in the 30-month project implementing a state-of-the-art cloud-based HCM system across the Colorado State University System. The primary responsibility of the analyst will be to collaborate with the human resource community, assess existing processes, and facilitate the transition to industry best practices using the vendor-provided software. The goal is to streamline and align human resource operations and enhance efficiency in this multi-campus environment.
Required Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, human resources or similar degree OR any bachelor’s degree plus 2 or more years of professional experience. Candidates with a High School Diploma (or GED) plus 6 or more years of related professional experience will be considered for employment (without the required degree).
  • Two or more years of directly applicable experience as a business analyst.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting or leading large-scale organizational technical change initiatives of a complex nature.
  • Ability to integrate project management techniques to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Experience coordinating and facilitating meetings that include a variety of stakeholders from across multiple units/departments/organizations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Familiarity with cloud-based HCM systems and their implementation
  • PMI BPA Certification or comparable certification
  • Knowledge of key business function in higher education in HCM functional areas such as core, recruiting, talent, absence, and benefits
  • Ability to translate business process redesign and automation into administrative efficiencies
  • Business process modeling experience
  • Process improvement experience
  • Experience with workflow analysis and workflow redesign
  • Experience with business process management software
  • Project planning experience
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis

Essential Duties

Duty/Responsibility
  • Collaborate with project teams, IT professionals, and other human resource community stakeholders to facilitate a seamless implementation of the HCM system.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders and human resource community staff across multiple campuses to create comprehensive documentation of processes, configurations, integrations, workflows and system functionalities.
  • Coordinate with the HCM implementation partner to identify opportunities for process alignment and utilization of workflow driven operations which eliminate redundant and manual work
  • Document unique University requirements that are not standard HR industry practices and work with HCM leadership to prepare process change recommendation. 
  • Collaboration with HCM Trainer to develop training programs for campus professionals to ensure effective utilization of the new system.
  • Learn software functionality and provide guidance on leveraging the software’s capabilities without resorting to customizations.
  • Lead small teams representing multi campus environment to receive feedback and adjust change management plans accordingly
  • Use project management methods to keep business process activities on track and keep change sponsors informed.
  • Work with testing lead and HR community staff to develop effective testing scripts and ensure that applications are well tested.
