Role / Team Overview:Risk and Control Analyst within the Commodities CAO- Controls team. Successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the risk management framework for eTrading application usage as well as other trading and trade capture applications.The role will involve identification, assessment, monitoring and mitigation of risk associated with trading platforms and related controls.The VP will work closely with front office teams, IT, booking controls and compliance to ensure a robust risk control environment. Successful candidate will need to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.What you’ll do:
- Risk Management Framework- Implement compressive risk management framework and controls for eTrading and other applications in accordance to the relevance policies
- Risk Identification and Assessment- Identify potential risks associated with the application and establish appropriate controls to mitigate
- Monitoring and reporting: Monitor risk exposure, trends and triggers associated with the application and business activities. Includes running periodic governance meeting to highlight matters for awareness and escalation to senior management and 2nd Line of Defense
- Control Environment: Design, oversee and maintain robust controls. This should include periodic review of appropriate thresholds
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of controls to identify areas of improvement. This should also include periodically assessing Commodities controls and governance against changes in policies and standards
- Training and awareness: Develop and deliver training programmes to enhance risk awareness.
- Providing business specific responses for regulatory examinations and questions
What we need from you:
- Experience in risk management within the financial service industry
- Advanced working knowledge in trading flows and associated risks
- Track record as a Business Analyst within the Financial Services/Investment Banking industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions
- Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts / requirements and related product / functional knowledge
- Experience of working with Agile Methodologies and Tools
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
- Ability to learn/understand some technical implications of system design
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Commodities experience (desirable)
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
