About us

Kingston Council’s collective focus is on delivering exceptional service that achieves our vision and meets community expectations.

The Environmental Health team comprises 12 Environmental Health Officers operating out of the Cheltenham office. The team delivers a range of services including food safety management, complaint resolution, infectious disease investigations, public health initiatives and environmental protection. We are a dynamic and supportive team and we are looking for an administration assistant superstar to help us provide the best customer-focused service to our internal and external stakeholders. 

The role

We are seeking a highly motivated Administration Professional who thrives on working within a dynamic, fast-paced environment where every day is different. Being the first point of contact for general enquiries for the team, you will have exceptional communication skills and possess a positive, can-do mindset and attitude. The primary purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the Environmental Health team, including word processing, filing and maintenance of records, processing registrations and renewals and issuing of permits, bookings, receipts and distribution of correspondence to Officers within the team.  There is no time for boredom in this role! 

About you

As the successful candidate you will have a relevant training/qualification or previous administration experience. Additionally, you will have excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work amongst a diverse team of professionals towards attainment of common goals is essential. An interest in Public Health is desirable. You will have the opportunity to further progress your career by attending training courses and taking on professional development opportunities.
