Overview
We’re looking for a Placement student to join Link Treasury Services, part of Link Group, and the leading treasury management adviser to the public sector to help us continue to support our clients by joining our Client Executive Team and working to provide a range of presentations, economic commentaries and reports, as well as historic and live market data, to our clients. It’s an exciting role, providing a great opportunity for a university student to shadow senior staff and learn about Treasury Management, apply knowledge gained during their degree and develop skills to enhance their future career prospects.
During your time with us, you’ll be given all the opportunity you can handle, as well as the encouragement to not just to learn what we do, but to help us do it better. We can also provide training on financial market platforms such as Reuters, Bloomberg and DataStream.
The role is based on a hybrid basis from our office in central, London, so whilst you won’t be in the office every day, you do need to be within a commutable distance. This is a 13 month placement as part of a degree course.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Downloading the daily financial data provided by Reuters and Bloomberg
  • Producing the daily economic, standard presentation used for client meetings and working with the Client Executive Team to produce client meeting presentations, including economic updates, interest rate forecasts and debt portfolio analysis
  • Producing monthly investment reports for clients and quarterly benchmarking reports
  • Monitoring and updating clients’ debt portfolios
  • Writing economic bulletins which review gilt market movements and major economic events
  • Following fundamental economic, industrial and corporate developments through the analysis of information obtained from financial publications
  • Attending client seminars and interacting with clients via telephone calls and emails to help resolve queries and ad hoc reporting requests, in addition to compiling and despatching regular news updates to clients
  • Monitoring and updating clients’ debt portfolios
  • Producing supporting documents for tender responses to retain and win new business
  • Maintaining client data base through Link’s passport system

What we’re looking for:
A 2nd Year student studying for a degree that is relevant to a career path in Financial Services and looking for a 13 month Placement as part of that degree.

  • A pro-active, conscientious individual, who is interested in doing a great job and learning all they can during their time in industry
  • Awareness of the economy, financial markets and current events
  • Great knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and initiative
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with internal stakeholders and external clients
  • A supportive team player with the ability to manage their own time
