Kurdistan Organization for Human Rights Watch (KOHRW) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that was established in 1989 as a national NGO. KOHRW has contributed to humanitarian services and different development programs in the Kurdistan region and Iraq. KOHRW specializes in six areas of expertise: Human Rights, Protection, Shelter& WASH, Livelihood, Social Cohesion, and Education.

 

 

Objective:

 

The Business Support Expert will provide specialized expertise in identifying and supporting business opportunities for beneficiaries of the vocational training programs. The role focuses on ensuring that the skills provided through the training align with market demands and that beneficiaries are well-prepared for employment or entrepreneurship.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analyses of market trends, business opportunities, and economic sectors with high potential for employment.
  • Provide expert guidance in the development of vocational training curriculums, ensuring they align with market demands and business needs.
  • Collaborate with private sector partners to identify internship and employment opportunities for program participants.
  • Support beneficiaries in developing business plans, identifying funding opportunities, and accessing relevant resources.
  • Deliver training sessions on entrepreneurship, business management, and financial literacy as part of the vocational training program.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of the matching database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on beneficiary placements and outcomes.
  • Provide one-on-one mentorship and coaching to beneficiaries interested in starting their own businesses.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Field Coordinators to ensure business-related activities are integrated smoothly into the overall project.
  • Facilitate connections between beneficiaries and local business networks, chambers of commerce, and industry associations.
  • Contribute to the impact assessment by providing insights on the business outcomes and economic impact of the vocational training programs.
