We are open to all candidates applying on a part- or full-time basis.Reporting to the Contract Manager, the mission of the role is to lead and manage the CAD team to ensure work tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner. To work effectively and closely with the engineering disciplines and subject experts within the business and those of our global suppliers.To develop and produce 3D CAD models and associated drawings of a variety of equipment items and packaged process systems using Inventor 3D CAD software, together with developing and producing associated material requisitions, equipment specifications, project procedures and other contract documents.Main ResponsibilitiesLeadership Responsibilities

  • Leadership and coordination of CAD designers within the Bolton Systems and Solutions Business. Management of work tasks, personal development plans, behavioural attributes, general attendance, etc.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to the Operations/Contract Manager.
  • Promote and ensure CAD role responsibilities are achieved and maintained.

CAD Responsibilities

  • To develop and produce 3-D CAD models and associated drawings of a variety of equipment items and packaged process systems using Inventor 3-D CAD software, together with developing and producing associated material requisitions, equipment specifications, project procedures and other contract documents. These must be accurately prepared in full compliance with relevant international codes and standards and to our customers’ project standards within defined project timescales. These must ensure that manufacturing of the required equipment can be undertaken efficiently and economically, and the completed plant can be installed, operated and maintained safely.
  • To work effectively and closely with the engineering disciplines and subject experts within the Systems and Solutions business and those of our global suppliers.
  • To communicate effectively with our external and internal customers and with our suppliers on technical and other matters relating to our designs and equipment.

Other Responsibilities

  • Supporting and maintaining correct archiving and storing of CAD related files in the Valut system.
  • Being the main point of contact for the Bolton PC for all CAD related matters, and assisting the Global CAD team with upkeeping and ensuring CAD software/applications works correctly.

Skills & ExperienceBusiness Knowledge, Educational Background and Work Experience

  • Considerable experience of steam ejector system, liquid ring pump system and water injection deaerator design and drawing preferred.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel and heat exchanger fabrication, pressure vessel design codes, welding techniques and practices, non-destructive testing methods/procedures and PED requirements.
  • Computer literate including effective use of MS Office software, including Microsoft Project.

Education Level:

  • HND, HNC, BTEC or similar in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS office software especially Excel, Word and Project.

Relevant Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of 3D CAD drafting and process equipment and equipment packages, preferably using Inventor 3D CAD software.
  • Good practical experience and knowledge of pressure vessels, shell and tube heat exchangers and of process equipment packages incorporating these.
  • Experience of working for customers in the oil, petrochemical, nuclear and power sectors and in working with the engineering contractors servicing these customers.
