Introduction: Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) in partnership with CARE Iraq is excited to invite qualified individuals to apply for the position of PSEA and Safeguarding Trainer. This opportunity is part of the project titled “Strengthening Women’s Rights Movements on the Women, Peace, and Security agenda in three fragile contexts.”  

About the Project: Women Empowerment Organization in partnership with Care, and funded by the BMZ, is working on Strengthening Women’s Rights Movements on the Women, Peace and Security agenda in three fragile contexts, by targeting WROs and WLOs in Salah Ad Din governorate as well as excluded groups of women and girls. The project will develop the institutional capacity of women-led bodies, increase accessibility and consistency to grant funding, and increase the effectiveness of platforms, networks, and alliances so that women’s rights defenders can lead on peacebuilding, social inclusion, and promoting women’s voice and participation in decision-making. This project also aims to strengthen the Women Rights Movements to build inclusive and sustainable networks to collectively organize around UNSCR 1325 Agenda on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and engage with decision makers at the local, national and multi-country level under the following indicators, activities and outcomes. 

Position: PSEA & Safeguarding Trainer 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PSEA & Safeguarding Trainer to conduct training sessions for five women rights organizations in Tikrit, Salah Al Din, Iraq. The aim of this training is to equip organizations working on women’s rights under this project with the essential tools and knowledge to safeguard individuals, particularly women and children, from abuse and exploitation. 

Training Duration: 3-day training during the month of June (exact dates will be decided with the chosen candidate). 

Training Location: Tikrit, Salah Al Din, Iraq 

Scope of Work: 

The selected trainer will be responsible for: 

• Designing a comprehensive training program on PSEA and Safeguarding tailored to the specific needs of humanitarian and development organizations working with vulnerable populations.

• Developing training materials, including manuals, presentations, handouts, and any other relevant resources for the PSEA and safeguarding context.

• Conducting interactive and engaging training sessions for representatives of organizations, with a focus on PSEA principles, safeguarding policies, and best practices.

• Utilizing a variety of training methods, such as case studies, role-playing, group discussions, and interactive activities, to ensure an engaging and practical learning experience.

• Equipping participants with practical skills in preventing and responding to sexual exploitation, abuse, and neglect, ensuring a survivor-centered approach.

• Providing hands-on training on establishing and managing reporting mechanisms, creating safe spaces for reporting abuse, and addressing safeguarding concerns in the field.

• Teaching participants how to implement organizational safeguarding frameworks, ensuring compliance with international standards and legal obligations.

• Offering guidance on developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, such as local authorities, community leaders, and other partner organizations, in safeguarding efforts.

• Assessing the progress and effectiveness of the training through pre- and post-training evaluations, ensuring that learning objectives are met.

• Providing constructive feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement, including future follow-up activities.

Training Report Requirement: 

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the selected trainer will be required to submit a comprehensive training report at the conclusion of the training program. This report should include: 

• An overview of the training session conducted, including objectives and content covered.

• Highlights of participant engagement and progress throughout the training, with specific examples.

• Any adaptations made to the training content based on the specific needs or challenges identified during the training.

• Feedback received from participants regarding the effectiveness, relevance, and applicability of the training.

• Recommendations for ongoing support and follow-up activities, ensuring that participants are able to apply the knowledge and skills gained in their respective roles.

• Results of pre- and post-training evaluations, including charts and graphs showing the progress in learning and understanding of PSEA and safeguarding concepts.

مقدمة: 

منظمة تمكين المرأة (WEO) بالتعاون مع CARE العراق تدعو الأفراد المؤهلين لتقديم طلباتهم لوظيفة مدرب في مجال الوقاية من الاستغلال والاعتداء الجنسي والحماية لمنظمات حقوق المرأة في صلاح الدين. تأتي هذه الفرصة ضمن مشروع بعنوان “بناء قدرات منظمات المجتمع المدني العاملة في مجال المرأة.” 

عن المشروع:

نحن نبحث عن مدرب محترف ومؤهل للقيام بتدريب خمس منظمات لحقوق المرأة في تكريت، صلاح الدين، العراق. الهدف من التدريب هو تزويد المنظمات التي تعمل على حقوق المرأة في هذا المشروع بالأدوات والمعرفة الأساسية لحماية الأفراد، وخاصة النساء والأطفال، من الاستغلال والاعتداء الجنسي. 

مدة التدريب: 3 أيام في شهر حزيران (سيتم تحديد التواريخ مع المدرب المختار). 

مكان التدريب: تكريت، صلاح الدين، العراق 

المسؤوليات الرئيسية: 

سيكون المدرب المختار مسؤولاً عن:

• تعليم المشاركين كيفية تطبيق أطر حماية الأشخاص ضمن منظماتهم وضمان الامتثال للمعايير الدولية والالتزامات القانونية.

• تقديم التوجيه بشأن بناء والحفاظ على علاقات مع الأطراف الفاعلة الرئيسية مثل السلطات المحلية، قادة المجتمع والمنظمات الشريكة.

• تقييم تقدم التدريب وفعاليته من خلال التقييمات قبل وبعد التدريب، لضمان تحقيق الأهداف التعليمية.

• تقديم ملاحظات بناءة وتوصيات لتحسين التدريب وضمان متابعة الأنشطة المستمرة.

متطلبات التقرير التدريبي: 

بالإضافة إلى المسؤوليات المذكورة أعلاه، سيكون من الواجب على المدرب المختار تقديم تقرير تدريب شامل في ختام البرنامج التدريبي. يجب أن يتضمن هذا التقرير ما يلي: 

• نظرة عامة على الجلسات التدريبية التي تم تنفيذها، بما في ذلك الأهداف والمحتوى الذي تم تغطيته.

• أبرز مشاركة المشاركين وتقدمهم طوال فترة التدريب.

• أي تعديلات أجريت على المحتوى التدريبي استناداً إلى احتياجات المشاركين.

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate should possess: 

• A degree in Humanitarian Assistance, Social Work or a related field.

• Proven experience in PSEA, safeguarding, and working with vulnerable populations in humanitarian and development contexts.

• Demonstrated experience in conducting training sessions related to safeguarding, PSEA, and protection in humanitarian or non-profit organizations.

• Strong understanding of the local context in Iraq, particularly regarding community-based protection mechanisms and safeguarding issues.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

• Fluency in Arabic and English, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible manner.
