Call for Applications: Consultant for Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Training Workshops

Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) is seeking a qualified consultant to facilitate a series of training workshops on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah governorates for (Protection and Support for Social Inclusion of Violence Against Women and Girls Survivors in Kurdistan) Project. These workshops aim to enhance the technical capacities of participants from Civil Society Organizations in case management, psychosocial support, legal frameworks, safe identification and referral practices, and networking/fundraising.

About the Project:

Funded by Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), WEO in partnership with INTERSOS and CESVI, is implementing a project aims to improve the effectiveness of protective services, support and reintegration for women and girls’ survivors of violence in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.

WEO is eager to announce the opening of applications for the Capacity Building Program on women’s rights, which is part of the project “Protection and Support for Social Inclusion of Survivors of Violence Against Women and Girls in Kurdistan (AID 12704)”. We are seeking a consultant to support this initiative.

Training Sessions in Each Governorate:

1. GBV Case Management and Psychosocial Support:

Target Audience: Social workers and psychologists from civil society organization (CSOs).

Topics: Case assessment, action planning, implementation, follow-up, closure, referral mechanisms, psychosocial support, documentation

Format: Three-day session with interactive discussions, case studies.

2. Providing Assistance to Girl Survivors of GBV within the Existing Legal Framework:

Target Audience: Lawyers from CSOs

Topics: Legal advice, awareness-raising, legal framework, government responsibilities, referral systems, legal protection mechanisms

Format: Three-day session with interactive exercises, case scenarios

3. Safe Identification and Referral (Training of Trainers – TOT ) :

Target Audience: CSO staff involved in VAWG identification and referral

Topics: Referral mapping, referral actors and systems, safe practices, confidentiality, training facilitation skills

Format: Five-day session focusing on comprehensive training and skills enhancement.

4. Networking and Fundraising Training:

Topics: Community-based advocacy, public sector advocacy, fundraising mechanisms, project proposal writing, partnership building, donor mapping

Format: Three-day workshops.

Consultant Responsibilities:

* Designing comprehensive training modules and materials in collaboration with WEO.

* Delivering interactive and participatory training sessions as per the outlined topics and formats.

* Providing mentorship and guidance to participants during and after the training sessions.

* Conducting evaluations, pre-tests, post-tests and preparing post-training reports.
