Position description
DAI, a global consulting firm based in the United States, is currently accepting applications from senior candidates for technical and managerial long-terms position for the anticipated Agriculture Activity in Egypt funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The goal of this new activity is to transform the agriculture and food system in Egypt toward sustainable production and increased economic growth. The project seeks to:
1) Improve sustainable productivity of farmers
2) Strengthen the role of market-driven providers by enhancing the capacity of Business Development Service (BDS) providers
3) Improve the enabling environment for agriculture and food security.
Long- and short-term experts with seven (7) or more years of experience in the following areas are sought in the following technical fields. Egyptian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Market Systems Development
- Agricultural value chains
- Climate Smart Agriculture
- Food Security
- Business Enabling Environment
- Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development
- Private sector engagement
- Agricultural Digital Technologies
- Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion
- Monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting
- Strategic communications/outreach
- Grants development and management
- USAID project finance, operations, and contract administration
Qualifications/Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field (such economics, agriculture, natural resources, international development, international relations or related field) from an accredited university required. An advanced degree (master’s or higher) is preferred.
- At least 7 years of technical experience in area of expertise.
- At least 5 years of progressive management and leadership experience for managerial positions.
- Experience in Egypt and/or MENA regional experience preferred.
- Experience with USAID and/or other international donor programs.
- Strong communication skills – both written and oral – in English and Arabic required.
