Background:

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) promotes the implementation of OSCE principles and commitments, as well as the co-operation of the Republic of Tajikistan within the OSCE framework in all three dimensions. It is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from counterterrorism and border management projects to supporting cross-border markets and free economic zones, human rights, media development, and legal reform initiatives.  

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) is looking for additional Drivers to establish a roster of candidates willing to serve on a short-term basis in future. NOTE: The selected candidates will be on a roster and might be contacted as per operational need.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Transport Assistant and the overall supervision of the Materials Management Officer, the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:

  1. Driving office vehicles for the transport of staff to and from meetings and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items; 
  2. Driving office vehicles for the transport of staff to and from Implementing Partners for monitoring and other visits; 
  3. Picking up and dropping off of staff and visitors at the airport, includes assisting arriving visitors with visa formalities at the airport; 
  4. Responsible for day to day maintenance and cleanliness of office vehicles, e.g. oil, gas, water, fluids, tires, brakes; 
  5. Keeping a log of vehicle’s usage; 
  6. Ensuring that the steps required by the rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident; 
  7. Performing other tasks as requested.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Completion of secondary education; 
  • Minimum of three years of professional driving experience; 
  • Class B driver’s license is mandatory, C and D driver’s license are preferable; 
  • Safe driving record; 
  • Experience in driving in Dushanbe and outside Dushanbe; 
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations of the country and of OSCE. Skills in vehicle repair; 
  • Good knowledge of Russian and Tajik. Knowledge of English is preferable; 
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities; 
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity. 

Remuneration Package:

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 528.91 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme.

Please note that for this position the OSCE does not reimburse expenses such as travel in connection with interviews, tests, visas and relocation.

 

Please be aware that the OSCE does not request payment at any stage of the application and review process.

The mandatory retirement age at the OSCE is 65 years for contracted positions at the general service, professional and director level. The Organization shall apply an age limit of 63 years at the time of appointment as the incumbent selected is normally expected to carry out the contractual obligation of two years.
