International Alert (IA) with support from Irish Aid is implementing “Powering Peace through Climate Action” project which seeks to pioneer approaches to build peace through inclusive and intersectional climate action in Benue and Sokoto states.
International Alert, in line with our commitment to assisting communities impacted by the effects of climate change, is actively seeking proposals from experienced and qualified vendors specializing in borehole drilling services. This initiative aims to address the pressing need for sustainable water supply solutions in the Fiidi Community, located in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to engage in a competitive bidding process to secure the services of a reputable vendor capable of delivering high-quality borehole drilling services. The selected vendor will play a crucial role in providing the Fiidi Community with a reliable and resilient water source, thereby enhancing the community’s resilience to the adverse effects of climate change.
Scope of Work
The selected vendor will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Conduct geological survey to ascertain viability of the borehole in terms of depth and water quality
- Ensure that the borehole is drilled to a specified depth and diameter, as determined by the geological survey findings and requirements for accessing the aquifer.
- Installation of casing and screen to ensure the structural integrity and protection of the borehole.
- Development and testing of the borehole to assess its yield and quality.
- Provision of all necessary equipment, materials, and labour for the completion of the project.
- Compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations throughout the drilling process.
- Installation of Solar Powered operating machines
- 10,000 litres capacity overhead tank
- Provide a two-year warranty for the borehole ensuring ongoing access to the aquifer and uninterrupted water supply offering peace of mind and confidence in the investment.
Submission Requirements
Interested vendors are requested to submit the following documents:
- Detailed proposal outlining the vendor’s approach to borehole drilling, including methodologies, equipment, and timelines.
- Itemized cost breakdown, including drilling expenses, equipment rental, labor costs, and any additional charges.
- Documentation of the vendor’s experience and expertise in similar projects, including references from past clients.
- Confirmation of compliance with all relevant licensing, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proposed terms and conditions, including payment schedule, warranties, and liability clauses.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Technical approach and feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Cost-effectiveness and value for money.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in borehole drilling projects.
- Compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Proposed timeline for project completion.
Selection Process: After the submission deadline, International Alert will review all proposals and may conduct interviews or site visits with shortlisted vendors. The selected vendor will be notified accordingly.
Confidentiality: All information provided in response to this RFP will be treated as confidential and used solely for the purpose of evaluating proposals.
