DescriptionApprenticeship: Business Administration Level 3Contract length: 18 monthsThe Camden Public Safety Division plays an important role in engaging with local communities, statutory partners and community organisations to deliver the Council’s mission to ensure that ‘Everyone is safe at home and safe in our communities’. The service focuses on community engagement, promoting the importance of the ‘citizen voice’ in informing the development and delivery of a range of council/partnership crime and anti-social behaviour reduction measures.During the contract, the Community Safety Antisocial Behaviour Apprentice will learn to solve problems and develop the ability to assess and present data effectively. You will need resilience to face challenging situations. As you progress, you will develop strong communication and influencing skills, and contribute to decisions regarding how to make best use of community safety resources.You will support interventions to tackle antisocial behaviour within partnership settings, and develop an understanding of the risk assessment processes and the legal responsibilities related to child protection and vulnerable adults. You will also learn about restorative approaches and be involved in community engagement, learning how to empower victims while navigating sensitive situations related to tackling crime and antisocial behaviour with empathy and determination.You will work closely with a range of internal services, statutory partners and community organisations to deliver positive outcomes in line with the relevant Council policy, statutory legislation and best practice guidance.The successful candidate must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.DutiesIn this role you will …
Essential criteriaThe team is looking for candidates who have a strong commitment towards engaging with communities and are enthusiastic about the council’s aims outlined withinYou will be passionate about neighbourhood problem solving and will have a strong commitment towards personal/professional development. You will also be open to change and committed to support services to achieve positive outcomes on behalf of Camden citizens.In addition:– You are committed to studying towards completing the Level 3 qualification in Business Administration( and achieving functional skills in maths and English if relevant)
– You are excited to gain appropriate work experience to your complement studies. To work across the service and with partners to develop and deliver innovative, best practice community safety solutions.
– You are ready to learn how and to provide operational support for community safety, such as:
– You are curious and open about how we can do things differently to deliver outcomes for citizens and service users.
