We are seeking a Camera Operator/Video Editor (f/m/d) for our DW Brussels Studio in Belgium as of 1 April 2024 or as soon as possible on the basis of a full-time local staff contract limited for two years.

THE ROLE

• responsible for filming, editing and final production of news, reports and feature stories to be broadcast on the DW TV program and social media channels;
• coordinating video production working closely with the producers and correspondents of the studio in Brussels;
• filming and editing footage and video material;
• compiling video footage for web and DW’s social media platforms;
• documenting video reports.

PROFILE

• university degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualification;
• previous experience as camera operator familiar with the use and maintenance of different video camera systems (Sony Pxw Z280, Cannon C-series, Panasonic EVA1), GoPros, and drones;
• comfortable working with Premiere Pro and Avid;
• versed in audio recording;
• strong visual story telling skills;
• excellent planning and organization skills with a proactive, pragmatic, and hands-on approach;
• professional language proficiency in English required, knowledge of French or Dutch desirable, German an advantage;
• ability to work in interdisciplinary and diverse teams, high level of intercultural sensitivity and respect for diversity;
• willingness to travel across the European Union.
