Position Summary

Serving as a member of Connecticut Children’s Foundation Leadership
team this role reports to the President of CT Children’s
Foundation. The Campaign Director will manage the planning,
implementation and direction for Connecticut Children’s
comprehensive campaign. These responsibilities include serving as a
principal liaison to the Campaign Cabinet, campaign strategic
planning, ability to translate institutional priorities and needs
into campaign objectives, identify, plan and implement cultivation
events, develop and coordinate campaign communications, and provide
operational management for planning, initiatives and strategies
that share the financial, programmatic and cultural goals and
objectives of the campaign.

 

Job Duties and Role Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of all the moving pieces involved in a high
    functioning campaign management. Attention to detail, a proven
    track record for project planning, and the ability to build
    processes and deliver on time.
  • Team
    approach to building relationships with staff members, volunteer
    leadership, and donors to engage current and prospective donors to
    deepen their commitment to CT Children’s and their understanding of
    its vision and priorities.
  • Develop
    and maintain a strategic plan/fundraising operating plan for an
    integrated campaign model designed to support the campaign and
    overall mission of Connecticut Children’s, involving fundraising
    staff and volunteer leadership in the planning and execution to
    leverage expertise and cultivate their support.
  • Serve as
    principal liaison to Campaign Cabinet. Manage and ensure Foundation
    wide coordination with campaign consultants and ensure effective
    use of their services.
  • Operates
    as a Moves Manager with some secondary prospect assignments as
    appropriate
  • Schedule
    and manage Campaign Cabinet meetings, including preparation of
    agendas, supporting materials and coordination of any follow-up
    activities.
  • Translate institution priorities and needs into campaign objectives
    and activities that can be operationalized by Foundation staff as
    well as understood by, and compelling to, key volunteers and
    prospective donors.
  • Play
    role in strategic planning, policy formation and budget allocation
    related to the campaign as well as strategic staffing support for
    campaign task forces; initiatives, and working groups designed to
    advance the campaign efforts.
  • Ensures
    that data needed related to prospects and donors is captured,
    analyzed and utilized to evaluate progress towards goals.
  • Prepare
    periodic reports on campaign fundraising for Campaign Cabinet and
    Boards, Foundation Leadership, recommends revisions to fundraising
    strategy as needed to meet and exceed goals.
  • Manage
    relationship with an outside campaign related partner(s) who would
    manage communication plan and budget, gift announcements etc.
  • Identifies, plans and implements cultivation and recognition events
    for the campaign, including campaign specific donor engagement
    groundbreaking, dedication ceremonies

EDUCATION/EXPEREINCE REQUIRED

  • At least
    10 years progressive Experience as a frontline fundraiser, previous
    involvement role in executing/managing a campaign, and solid
    project management skills.
  • Experience with fundraising software and database, with knowledge
    of queries, reports and data import/export abilities. Salesforce
    experience desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

Experience and understanding of Moves Management to manage and
track campaign prospect portfolios and develop cultivation and
solicitation strategies.

Skilled at:

Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to communicate and
collaborate effectively and appropriately with staff, donors and
volunteers.

Ability to:

Ability to take initiative and maintain good communications with
staff, donors and volunteers.

Ability to promote Connecticut Children’s and favorably represent
the organization.
