Position Summary
The
Campaign Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day planning,
coordination, and management of the campaign. The position is both
strategic and tactical, incorporating all components of a capital
campaign from the leadership gift phase through the launch and
implementation of the public phase. The Campaign Manager will be
responsible for shaping donor stewardship efforts, deepening the
prospective donor pipeline, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date
information on campaign goals, donors, and prospects. This position
will report to the Director of Development and Membership and will
have extensive interaction with Campaign Cabinet members, Museum
leadership, members and donors.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director & CEO, Director of
    Development and Membership, Museum staff, and volunteer campaign
    leadership to support and implement a strategic direction for the
    campaign.
  • Manage a robust portfolio of donors by assisting in the
    development and execution of strategies for the cultivation,
    solicitation, and stewardship of current and new donors.
  • Prepare customized briefing and solicitation materials for
    volunteers and staff to use for meetings.
  • Maintain annotated table of gifts, list of funded recognition
    opportunities, and available programmatic funding
    opportunities.
  • Provide necessary campaign updates and numerical analysis to
    the Campaign Cabinet and SDMA leadership.
  • Maintain an organized and detailed prospective donor
    pipeline.
  • Perform prospect research using a range of online tools and
    develop prospect profiles of both current and prospective
    donors.
  • Support the volunteer committees; assist in campaign volunteer
    recruitment, help set strategy, prepare and conduct follow-up for
    group meetings, and train volunteers for solicitations.
  • Assist with timely donor acknowledgements and stewardship,
    including recognition opportunities and thank you letters, in
    conjunction with the Development & Membership Operations &
    Stewardship Manager.
  • Develop donor-facing correspondence including letters,
    invitations, briefings, and other mailings.
  • Produce reports, brochures, newsletters, and other
    communications materials, as needed.
  • Help to plan and coordinate campaign cultivation and
    recognition events and dinners.
  • Maintain a comprehensive campaign timeline.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of
    Development and Membership.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of professional
    experience in development with a proven record of success in
    meeting fundraising goals. Experience with capital campaigns
    preferred.
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
    with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet
    deadlines.
  • Experience interacting and building robust relationships with
    major donors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and database
    management.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication,
    and problem solving skills.

 

Physical Demands

  • 80% time spent sitting at desk.
  • Some carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional time spent offsite.
  • Daily walking which includes stairs.
  • Occasional weekends.

 

Work Environment

  • Office space shared.
  • Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately noisy.

 

Annual Salary: $75k – $110k
