Work Schedule Summary Positions work an average of 10 to 20 hours per week, dependent on Campus Event schedule.

Position Responsibilities

Position Summary Work under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Event Production, assisting in setting-up and supporting public events, athletic events, theater productions or civic activities sponsored by the University of Idaho.

Responsibilities

Job Duty Function Perform tasks to support events and activities by:
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Setting up event related equipment such as sound equipment, video systems, lighting, chairs/tables, rigging, portable stage risers, large canopies;
  • Moving/delivering and lifting equipment following standard safety procedures;
  • Operating audio equipment, video systems;
  • Providing excellent customer service.

  • Completing basic forms as required;
  • Completing accurate and timely daily, weekly and other time reports necessary for payroll and billing;
  • Assisting in the planning of future activities by keeping and reviewing records and notes of past events.

  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Campus Events Production Manager.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of event-related equipment (such as sound and lighting equipment) and applications;
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints;
  • Ability to maintain a current, valid driver’s license and meet the university’s driving requirements;
  • Experience operating and maintaining multi-channel audio systems, lighting systems and/or video equipment;
  • Experience performing up and down rigging;
  • Experience scheduling, coordinating, and supervising staff.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to:
  • Perform rigging and to stand and squat on catwalks and beams 70 feet above floor level;
  • Lift, carry and/or otherwise move 50 lbs;
  • Work off of ladders; work in dusty environments;
  • Work variable schedules including evening, nights, weekends and holidays to meet production deadlines.
