CANADEM is seeking seasoned professionals with previous relevant experience for its Senior Security Operations roster. CANADEM is a Canadian-based NGO that works with various UN agencies through the standby partnership program. We regularly deploy candidates in various areas of expertise all around the globe. Registration with CANADEM is always free. We are looking to expand our pool of experts for potential/upcoming opportunities with different UN agencies field offices. Most positions are for 3 to 6-month deployments.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in security, emergency management and preparedness, or related fields responding to emergency situations that directly impact security
- Specialized experience in security programmes, risk assessments, or analysis
- Experience in contingency planning and crisis management
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in security management or a related field
- Ability to clearly present research findings and develop high-quality reports on security matters, security threats and emerging trends
- Ability to effectively communicate complex issues and defend recommendations to clients and supervisors
Desirable:
- Experience in planning, design, implementation, or review of risk mitigation measures related to operations impacted by insecurity
- Experience in a conflict, post-conflict or natural disaster settings
- Experience in using applied analytics, business intelligence, and information management to advance decisions, strategies and execution
CANADEM and its partners have a no-tolerance policy towards Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (SEAH). For this reason, we adhere to all policies, procedures and training of the United Nations on The Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH). CANADEM mandates all deployees successfully complete the PSEA online course. This e-learning course is composed of a set of lessons designed to raise awareness about SEAH, become familiar with a range of measures to combat SEAH, understand the impact on victims and the consequences for UN Personnel who commit Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment.
