The Role

Based in Brisbane, you’ll be an experienced breadth based fundraiser and strategic leader eager and hungry to maintain momentum. A fundraising chameleon you’ll be hungry to work in collaboration with our Senior Fundraising Managers and Senior Leaders and with the Orange Sky Australia team to achieve your revenue target ($3m) across the whole fundraising mix but have a bent and passion for engagement, individual giving, philanthropy and strategic partnerships. You’ll be comfortable leading when required across a range of marketing, fundraising and partnership (MFP) initiatives and opportunities. Your responsibilities will be varied but on the whole you’ll be a self-starter, not afraid to have a vision, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve our fundraising objectives and take our supporters to nurture new and existing donor and supporter relationships.

Working within the Marketing, Fundraising and Partnerships (MFP) team and in support of our mission, Orange Sky Person Characteristics, vision and values the key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Helping lead the strategic development, planning and execution of the campaign, working collaboratively with key stakeholders.
  • Overall campaign management and organisation including pipelines, prospect tracking, moves management, task assignment and maintenance of timelines.
  • Schedule meetings, preparing talking points, assembling presentations, and full meeting prep for, Board members, campaign stakeholders and staff.
  • Research and identify prospects, refine and execute solicitation strategies and participate in solicitation.
  • Manage and achieve the campaign budget ($3m) and reporting, oversee acknowledgement of all campaign gifts and pledges and prepare all pledge payment reminders and pledge agreements in collaboration with relevant staff.
  • Write or work with relevant suppliers to build all campaign correspondence/collateral.
  • Maintain and deliver master campaign calendar to maximise effective communication and cultivation events and keep any relevant campaign associated staff on track as well as maintain accurate reporting in our CRM Salesforce.
  • Organise and monitor all adjacent and related activity and follow-up, and assist in all aspects of related events and appeals.

The applicant must have at least five years industry experience in roles that have included, fundraising, engagement and/or relationship management. Additionally they will have;

  • Advanced knowledge of the fundraising sector in Australia.
  • Excellent experience in both strategic and executional fundraising roles with a deep understanding of philanthropy, appeals and the engagement space.
  • Excellent understanding and ability to adapt style and skills across a range of fundraising streams from identification through to solicitation.
  • Be data driven and analytical in their approach to growth and fundraising opportunities.
  • An understanding and aptitude for Salesforce would be favourable.
  • A strong communicator in written, verbal and digital environments,
  • A proactive attitude, highly organised and willing to give things a crack while prioritising conflicting deadlines.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and proven ability to inspire others and influence relationships.
  • Excellent understanding of or passion for service delivery, particularly in relation to homelessness or hardship.
  • Proven track record working in a similarly complex, growing, fast-paced, not-for-profit operation.
