How you Will Power our Purpose (Job
Summary)

As the Capital Campaign Manager, you play
a pivotal role in advancing all aspects of capital campaign(s) to
meet the goals of the association. You will implement policies,
plans, and programs aligned with the strategy for soliciting,
planning and executing campaign events and/or communication. 
This encompasses conducting prospect research, maintaining a leads
database, and cultivating strong relationships with campaign
donors. You are responsible for arrangement and notifications for
meetings, campaign correspondences, monitoring gift and pledge
records, as well as partnering with campaign volunteers,
consultants and donors. Under the direction and guidance of the
Chief Development Officer, your responsibilities include serving as
a critical member of the Team who as a whole will be focused on
increasing annual giving from $2 million to $6 million, growing the
association endowment by 2030, and driving $20 million in current
capital campaign projects.

 

You will also support the enterprise’s commitment to diversity,
equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and the core character
values of the YMCA. Reporting directly to the Chief Development
Officer you will partner closely with other senior leaders
throughout the enterprise to achieve outcomes.

    Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Objectives and Key Results
    (OKRs) to meet strategic goals and objectives.
  • Implements a goal-based leadership approach (OKR methodology)
    and ensures the development department is actively working towards
    supporting organizational level objectives and key results.
    Conducts Cycle Check-ins and the Annual Check-In with direct
    reports to ensure progress with OKRs, providing ongoing coaching
    and feedback, and discuss development opportunities.

Capital Campaign Support 

In collaboration with the leadership of the
Development/Association department, you will play a pivotal role in
executing the capital campaign strategy and overseeing various
activities, including:

  • Provide strategic leadership in line with YMCA goals,
    collaborating with the Development/Association department.
  • Oversee all campaign activities, including gift campaigns,
    endowment initiatives, and corporate giving.
  • Proactively identify and cultivate prospects, major donors, and
    strategic partners.
  • Manage donor relationships, ensuring stewardship and compliance
    with legal and ethical standards.
  • Develop and operate a comprehensive prospect and donor
    management system.
  • Be accountable for overall project management of capital
    campaigns.
  • Foster innovation and collaboration, staying at the forefront
    of capital campaign best practices.

Community & Board Engagement 

In collaboration with the marketing and communications
department, you will play a key role in enhancing the YMCA’s brand,
partner, and donor experience. Your responsibilities will
include:

  • Advocating for the YMCA’s mission among board members,
    community leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Designing and executing impactful campaign communications and
    promotional materials.
  • Collaborating on donor cultivation plans, ensuring personalized
    interactions.
  • Planning and executing events related to the capital campaign,
    maximizing in-kind contributions.
  • Collaborating with the board of directors, providing updates
    and leveraging their expertise.

Other duties as assigned

  • Represent the Greater Austin YMCA locally, regionally, and
    nationally, both inside and outside the organization.
  • Expand learning and personal skill development through
    participation in local and national events and career development
    training.
  • Engage fully in Association events conducted for staff and
    volunteers.
  • Support Development Team events
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the
    Chief Development Officer. 

What You Bring to the Community Enterprise

You have demonstrated success in significantly growing
contributed revenue as well as implementing groundbreaking
strategies and innovative approaches to fund development, i.e.
executing best practices and creating new practices. You also have
a track record of success in designing and applying innovative
approaches to strategic partnerships, corporate giving, and
sponsorships. You possess an entrepreneurial spirit with the
ability to lead strategically but also perform hands-on work in a
“roll up your sleeves” culture.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of successful
    executive experience in capital campaigns and/or major gifts, or, a
    combination of education, fundraising experience, project
    management skills, relevant certifications, and at least 3 years of
    executive experience in capital campaigns and/or major
    gifts.
  • Proven expertise in developing and managing prospect
    databases.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting 6 and 7-figure campaign
    gifts.
  • Knowledge of fundraising technology and software support, with
    the ability to select, implement, and manage such technology
    effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and
    problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Uphold utmost discretion regarding donor confidentiality and
    privacy.

Pay Range $55,000 – $65,000 per year, DOE
