This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of nature-based solutions to protect and
increase the carbon sequestration of our habitats, in support of the City Corporation’s Climate
Action Strategy which breaks new ground and sets out how the organisation will achieve net
zero, build climate resilience and champion sustainable growth, both in the UK and globally,
over the next two decades.

The City Corporation owns and manages over 4,450 hectares of London’s open spaces. We are
looking for a project manager who has a proven track record in land and habitat restoration
projects to lead the City Corporation’s Carbon Removals project, which aims to protect and
enhance carbon sequestration across these open spaces.

This role will work alongside a dedicated project officer and will involve planning,
facilitating and monitoring the delivery of activities that protect our existing carbon
sequestration, such as natural flood management, wildfire management and tree planting and
protection and; initiatives that increase carbon sequestration, such as meadow and wood pasture
creation, hedgerows and reedbed creation and changes in grassland management.

To be the successful candidate you will understand ecosystem services, will demonstrate
experience of applying nature-based solutions to conservation projects and will have a passion
for nature conservation and environmental issues. You will need organisation, communication,
and numerical skills as well as proficiency in writing and presenting reports and project
management documentation. You will have experience in budgetary and people management, in
procuring and managing contractors and consultants and in stakeholder engagement.
