Job Summary | The Office of Professional and Career Development within the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University seeks candidates for a Career Counselor position to advise and counsel students and alumni concerning career choices and employment opportunities. Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications | Education and Experience: Level I: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Counseling, or related field no experience required. Level II: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Counseling, or related field plus 2 years of experience providing career counseling and planning services. Level III: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Counseling, or related field plus 4 years of experience providing career counseling and planning services. Experience must include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent. Substitutions allowed for Experience: When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience. |

Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities | Must have great communication skills to connect with students, alumni, and employers. Familiarity with career assessment instruments, knowledge of career fields and employment markets, knowledge of career/job search engines/websites, ability to work collaboratively with other staff in teams to accomplish goals. |
